Bantam Polish breed

Some history about this breed

Well its unclear where this breed originated from.  Some say from Europe, others say from Dutch. All I know is that what I have read that the Polish chicken arrived into the USA between 1830-1840. They say that the Dutch had the polish and they are the ones who gave the Polish its name. In Dutch the word Pol means big head.

What I can say from my Experience and why I love this breed is that they are so neat, docile, and gentle. The one biggest issue with this breed is that they can not see what flies above in the sky. So it is very hard to keep these birds free range, because they can be easily snatched up by a flying predator. This breed is an ornamental so if you are looking for a breed to lay a lot of eggs this will not be the breed for you.

Some of my polish lay every day, others lay every other day, and a few when the remember to lay. lol

When owning this breed its best to keep the Polish in a pen to themselves, and not mix it with other breeds of chickens. Polish tend to be at the bottom of pecking order so beside them being pecked at they can also have their top to be pecked at causing it to bleed and damage their head.

The Bantams are small weighing in between 2-4lbs

The hens rarely get Broody.

My birds come from Awesome breeders, No Hatchery Quality here.
